Tell me about yourself:
My name is Amanda Bonhomme, I’m 31 years old from Southern California. I’m currently living in Las Vegas, NV and tattooing at Downtown Tattoo.
How long have you been tattooing for?:
I’ve been tattooing since 2009
Why did you decide to customize the shoes the way you did?:
My focus has always been on traditional tattooing. I’ve always loved and worn creepers so I wanted to do something fun that represented who I am and what I love about tattooing.
How was this project for you?:
It’s been a really fun experience. T.U.K is a great company and being able to have access and design a pair of their vegan shoes was an absolute pleasure. Painting on shoes was something I’d never done before so the challenge was great.
Are you currently working on any other projects?:
Always, it’s important to me to always busy tattooing, painting, creating and learning.
How long have you been an artist for?:
As long as I can remember. I started drawing and painting with my grandfather when I was maybe 2 or 3. He taught me how to draw my first roses and cartoon cats .
What’s your favorite tattoo that you have an why?:
That’s a hard one. I’ve never been the person to get tattoos because they mean something to me. I’ve always chosen tattoos that made me laugh or feel joy. I’ve been fortunate to be tattooed by a lot of my friends over the years so those would all be my favorites.
How were you keeping busy during quarantine?:
I totally wasn’t keeping busy. I think like a lot of people I watched a lot of movies, played a lot of video games and ate a bunch of junk food. I did however spend a lot of time thinking of productive things to do, does that count?
