Tell me about yourself:
Hey I’m Fibs out of San Juan ,Puerto Rico and I like to tattoo large scale pieces.


How long have you been tattooing for?
Its been 19 years


What made you want to become a tattoo artist?
I transitioned from Graffiti to tattooing in 2001 it was a great opportunity to work with art everyday and support the graffiti habit.


Why did you decide to customize the shoes the way you did?
It seems to be that my graffiti obsession when it comes to painting will be present in my work. So I had to use spray paint of course. I choose to do some finger waves, that my favorite thing to tattoo and I think they flow naturally with the design of the shoe.


How was working on this project for you?
It always great when you have the opportunity to mix tattoo subjects with fashion


Are you currently working on any other projects?
For the moment just focusing on my tattooing. I’m very greatful for the piece I’m working and the awesome people that trust me with this projects


How long have you been an artist for?
Around the age of 14 I was a full time graffiti writer


How were you keeping busy during quarantine?
It was very productive for me
had time to work some concepts I had been thinking and also catch up with some art history studying I wanted to do
I think for all the negative stuff surrounding quarantine I was making the best of my time.
